As the Monkey is a free emag we do not paid for stories or articles.
Which is also norm for the business. But it is a chance for you to say
you’re published. Stories and articles must be on some thing miniature
wargamers would be interested in, ancient to space and fantasy.
Length up to four 8x11 typed pages,@2400 words. It must fit on a web
page the size of this one. No one gets a second page.
We will not save items for later issues. You want to see yours then.
We are also writers and know the feeling. As we are not going to try to
have a theme for each issue we are open to items from any part of
miniature wargaming, single fig combat to block armies.
If your's is not published take a look at it. There is a rare chance we
did not get the email. Does happen. Were there others just like it in
that month's issue. Our plan is to use only one for any type of combat.
Did you mail it before the 20th of the month. That is the cut off date.
That allows us plenty of time to put together the next issue. If your
article did not get published in the next issue take a look at it. If the
item is good and one of the above happened resubmit. As writers
ourselves we're not going to lie to you saying we're going to use it
later and sit on it so the item doesn't appear in another mag. We did
not like that being done to us.
The story/article will appear as the writer submits it. The editor is not
an English editor and will not correct grammar, spelling, etc. Thats the
writer’s job. No profanity, crudeness or grossness. Most readers will be
college age or older. But we will not publish some thing a 13 year
should not read. Keep it to a PG-13 rating. As we are an emag there
are no major restrictions on the number we will publish. We are
aiming at the equivalent of a 50 paper page magazine. Be sure to read
the page Writer's Tips. Note. Always keeps a copy of the work
submitted. Do not submit an item to another magazine at the same
time. Editors hate that and we'll let you know real quick. If the item
has already been published let us know. We are required to include
that mag's name and issue.
When submitting be sure to include: You must include your real name.
If you want to use a pen name no problem, tell us. Keep it clean!
Include in your cover page your email address. We keep it for our
records. We will not give it to anyone. We will place it on the page

When writing, be careful of the use of idioms. As an Englishman once
told this American, we speak the same language we just use different
words. This emag will be available to readers all over the world. Avoid
